For students who speak English as a second language, the TOEFL test is an important part of demonstrating language proficiency. To ease your stress about the test, it helps to know what to expect. Here’s a look at what happens on the day of your TOEFL test.
Be sure to arrive at the testing center at least 30 minutes before your test, so you can register and receive your seat. If you arrive late or don’t have a photo ID, you may not be able to take the test. The test is taken on a computer, which also acts as a timer. You have four and a half hours to take the test, with a mandatory 10-minute break in the middle of the test. You can ask a question at any time by raising your hand. After the test, you can view the scores online about 10 days later.
